Whoops!
I thought the thing in the middle was a sort of ceramic open-clamshell decoration.

If it's not, I apologise. It still looks good!

I think its one of those sandstone-type rock with holes in it.

Regardless, agreed. Nice looking tank.

Wow! That is a really nice looking tank! I was just thinking about how a nice chunk of Texas holey rock would look in my tank. You've inspired me to really start thinking about my redesign.

Hey everyone!!! I am so glad that you all like my tank. I've put a lot of work into it.
Nick... it is a sandstone rock. It wasn't all too expensive. I bought it at petco for about 25 bucks...Its a little bigger than a pro football.
Lady Hobbs.. Thanks! I thought the backround suits it well!
Starloeysmom.... yes! its a great investment.. I bet it will look great!
Drum.. yes I play guitar.... have for nearly 7 years... I have 3 acoustics, 2 electrics, and one 12 string.
Pleco.. thanks!:19:

Hey GM.... thanks for the complements... it is much appreciated. I have no reason not to be polite, you all here at AC have helped me set up my first large aquarium that I have done by myself. I appreciate all you guys, and ladies =], help. I know I will be here for a while!
p.s. I think my cycle is complete... my readings are where they should be... see the "2nd day of stability" thread for details.....:19:

Sandstone, eh?
In all my years of fishkeeping, I don't think I've seen a LFS here selling it!
They either sell a really brown kind of rock pockmarked with bubbles; petrified wood or round greyish/brown river pebbles....

It looks really great, I want one for the Neon Tank!
But it would cost a fortune to import...

Does it affect the water chemistry at all?

I'll have to keep my eyes open, then, becuase 1) it looks great, and 2) it is a good hiding place for less social fish.

i think hes from australia, no petco there. i think there may be petsmarts there.

i got mine at a small shop. here, petsmart has NO bulk rock, superpet has a good wood selection, and sorta good bulk rock, but the small shop i went to had lots of exotic rock but it closed down
