i have a 55 gallon soon to be reef aquarium running for about 2 months and i was wondering what lighting fixture should i purchase for SPS corals and soft corals, i have a standard 55 gallon aquarium with a support brace in the middle, dimensions are 48 L, 12 W and 18 inches tall considering the substrate. so can you guys give me a decent list of certain lighting fixtures i should purchase? please keep in mind i most likely will not be spending over 300 dollars for a fixture.

For SPS you will probably want 6 HOT5 bulbs over the tank, I would think about this one which is a refurbished model but you can get it for a steal.

I personally use this fixture on my softie reef, you *may* be able to get away with select SPS on the dead top of your rock.

another option is this guy: [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]

hanging unit, 4 foot 6 bulb t5 system for around 200 after shipping. no bulbs included but you can find them for relatively cheap if you look around enough.
