first one is of the 55g with the lights off, second is the very start of the 10g salt. the 55g is not done, still needs far more plants. lol, and theres a blue extension cord infront of the 55. how nice

The salt is looking a bit bare...lol
I now have 6.5 lbs of LR and 3 lbs of dead rock that is slowly becoming live in my 10g. I restacked it and it looks REALLY cool now. I need to find the dang camera so i can get a pic up.

i was considering taking 7 lbs out of my 33g, but then i figured another bristleworm incident would happen. monday im gonna get some more LR, a shrimp, and maybe a fish.
i bought a CRAPPY bunch of LR there in the 7g. its some goth wasteland of only a tiny patch of algae. the 33g's LR is totally loaded with all the colors of the rainbow

I got my new LR today, and a bristle crawled onto my finger. I VERY carfully went to brush him off, and he got me with 1 or 2 little ones. The vinegar trick made short work of the spines though.
I cant wait untill monday, i am getting more LR.

youre lucky the vinegar worked for yours. i had one that was huge and wouldnt dissolve, and i lost a good few pieces of skin ripping it out.
I want to somehow find a way to get that 96W light under my hood. then i'd buy it for some serious coral action, but the lighting that came with the tank is fair
You guys of course realize that all of this talk is going to eventually force me to set up a SW tank, right? The NERVE of some people! :c5:

lol, we have conformed rue, next, its YOU!
hey, that rhymes!
I think first will be trying a planted 10 gallon tank to see if I can keep up with that. Maybe eventually SW. Got to finish cycling the new 40 long first, then the swordtail fry will go in there, then I think I'll plant the 10 gallon.

a basic 10g SW setup is much easier to maintain than a heavily planted 10g
Really? Damn, now I might have to change my mind. Again.

a basic one is, a crazy reef isnt
Hey, man. Come on. I was going to buy into this stuff! STOP making me get more tanks! :laugh1blue:
...my SW tank is so EXCITING!!! Plus...having beside it situated beside the puffer tank is a bonus, gives the puffers something to watch...
BTW...your new SW looks cool...just needs a couple of bigger pieces of rock on the base I think...
...and you need to get some backgrounds...even the cheapy, off-the-roll stuff I have makes a big difference in the overall looks...
...the decor looks very nice in the 55g...
STOP! STOP! I am a victim of MTS, and I refuse to admit it is my fault! Stop the madness!!! :hmm3grin2orange:

cmon GM, a extremely basic SW tank costs even less than a planted. just a 10g, some live sand or dolomite or crushed coral, for fish only a regular fluorescent light, some LR, a filter, heater, sea salt, and hydrometer. thats it
(shaking, trembling, sweaty palms) STOP! Make it STOP!!! :c3:
...tsk...you know you want it...:c4:

I see a RTS in that 55, nice:c5:
Goodness Rue, I do want it. Baby I want it! Pardon me while I go talk to my wife here (mind is indeed in the gutter). :wink2:
You all know I'll end up with a SW tank eventually. Totally going to blame you all for that. Darn you all to heck. And stuff.

Oh, as for backgrounds, do a satin black background. If you do matte black, it will look bland, almost grey. If you do Glossy black, you will be looking at a mirror, but satin makes the perfect spray on background. Check out my How-to in the DIY section.
Hmm, good points. Didn't think of it as such, but makes sense.

yep, they are breeding now and dont fight at all. there is a dominate one, but there is never any physical chasing or agression
