Was at my LFS today getting more corys for my 125 g, when one employee showed me some new skunk loaches they got in. He told me they were great. I wanted something new in my 55 g after I moved my 6 clown loaches to the 125 g. Well I bought three and went home. They were still hanging in the bag in the 55 g, when I looked them up in the Internet. I also saw the sticky from Dave66, but the worst was the storys from people on the loach.com side and other forums. They eat the fins of other fish, go for the eyes and killed angels, khuli loaches, even small bala sharks. They are just plain mean in a community setting. I called my LFS and brought them back. They even waited for me after closing, because I have a 45 minutes ride. That is honestly the last time I buy any fish by recommendation, before I look them up in the Internet.

Glad ya looked it up before adding them. They are a pain to catch. They can be mean, but having a larger school greatly reduced the outward aggression.

Great loaches for semi aggressive-aggressive tanks, but really not for nice community settings. They do have the classic loach behavior, just kind of goofy, and they have pretty impressive coloring once they settle in. Neat mix of pink yellow black and a deep red along the bottom.

Well I don't have anythng personal against them, they just do their thing. I think they do good in a species tank or with a cute pair of breeding kribs.:hmm3grin2orange:
