What are some 5" or smaller Catfish that I can get that are commanly found in Fish Stores? I know about Cories and Ghost Cats.
...Brochis - they look like a big, fat cory...sometimes called an Emerald catfish
...Otocinclus - small, schooling algae eater...commonly called Oto cats...

To add to that, i belive it is Brochis splendens, the same genus as a betta.
If you never wanted to see him, you could get a bumblebee catfish (or bumblebee goby).
There is an upside down cat (synodontis Nigriventris)
Or the featherfinned squeaker (synodontis eupterus). They get about 8 inches though.
Or you could get a redtailed catfish. They stay under 5 inches....................
Im not THAT stupid. No on the redtail.
The thing about catfish, is there are very few commonly avalible small catfish.

I think Bettas are betta splendens, they would not be in the same Genus as emerald cories.

What do you want to catfish to do?
A bottom cleaner like a cory, algae eater like a pleco/Otto or a miniature jaws that'll gob anything that fits in it's mouth?
In any case, you might want to check out [Only Registered Users Can See Links.], loads of info.
If your looking for a mini jaws, Microglanis iheringi is a good choice. We've had one for a while now and he's never grown larger than the 3" we bought him at. Great at controlling out platy fry population!
