Medicating my reef fish???

Will be buying a hippo tang for my reef tank. I am pretty sure it will get ick durring transit. I will put it in my hospital tank. Could I safely treat the fish with copper safe. and if so, when I take the fish from the hospital tank to the reef tank, am I going to get traces of copper in my reef. what procedure, medication.... should I use to assure the fish is treated with damage to my reef tank

I don't know a lot about hippo tangs, but won't they outgrow your tank ?

I was going to give a long response but after seeing the tank size I have to just say don't add the hippo tang. Even the smallest ones I have ever seen available should not be in that size tank, even just for a couple months.

yes it will, at that point I will move it on to the bigger tank
