I wouldn’t worry SharkBait, it is normal for the gravid spot to change colouration and common to have a pinkish hue to it at times. The eggs are a yellowish to brownish colour and the gravid spot may not always appear black (only at its darkest when the fry are nearly ready to be born). The females normal colouring can also have a bearing on it.
Light can also affect the colour (it is the pigment cells in a fish’s scales that determine the actual colouration of a fish and how those cells absorb/reflect light at the time). It can also change depending on the mood of the fish at the time, if she has a full stomach or not, can also affect the appearance of the gravid spot.
Females can appear to have a gravid spot even if they are not currently holding fry, just means that they are mature or have mated and had fry before. I have had many guppies that looked gravid their whole life even after all the stored up sperm had been expended.
