Sorry to hear about the ick, but congratulations on the fry. Of course won't the ick medicine kill the fry?

Zhis may sound cruel, but if the medication kills the fry, in 4 to 5 weeks I will have another batch.

Those fish spawn at least 6 times a year...I have to admit I stopped counting.

Do you sell the fry? Thats a good way to make some easy money!

No I dont breed them. This is a pic from my 110 gal. tank. They arnt in a breeding tank.

I once had about 45 young Meekis in my already overstocked tank.

This led to a catastrophy, cause my Nitrit shot into unbelievable heights.

And no LFS wanted my youngsters. In Germany Central Americans have a lousy reputation.

And when you calculate all the water changes to the lousy 1 € you may get for one fish....nah forget it.

If some survive ok, they will become a problem later on, but its still nice to find a survivor.

I got 3 of them.

It really leaves you no choice as to what you can do. You have to treat your others for the ick or loose those ones you already have. It is a shame tho as the fry are lovely.

One of my angels spawned this week. Her first spawning and she is very young and probably only laid 20 eggs. The male never fertilized the eggs but pushed her aside and ate them all. I was not upset, however, as I don't want fry either.
