Hi,
I want to add a group of rainbows to my 55g. The temp there is 72-77°F (22-25°C) - it needs to be on the cool side for pictus cats who are its main inhabitants.
From what I read, rainbows typically require much higher temps. The only option I've found so far is the madagascan rainbow (Bedotia geayi). What other rainbows can thrive in the cooler tank?
Another one I'm thinking about is parkinsoni rainbow (Melanotaenia parkinsoni). My LFS has them. Some sources say they might be fine in cooler temps, other say they have to have it very warm. What do you think?

Mine are in 76-78 all the time and do fine. A bit warmer if you want breeding but you are right, they are fish that prefer cooler temps. They should be very happy in 73-74.
