Anyone else had any problems with an 'Aquatech' filter? One came on my 5 gal kit. I got it all plugged up and it didn't work. The impeller never spun. Went to the store and they gave me another one, didn't have to return the first even- and it ran for about 4 days and now is not spinning the impeller either.

Tried nudging the impeller with a pen tip and nothing. Should I give up or do I just have duds.

Don't really have the cash for another filter right now- alot going on. But I would love to replace it with an AC or something else. Any ideas?

I had an Aquatech on a 20g once. It was terrible. It wouldn't start properly, the water flow was weird, and it had a strange setup for filter media. For mine, I just moved the intake around and eventually it would work. The impeller was fine though. IMO, you should look online for an AC. They are great filters and online you can get some pretty good deals. Any fish in this tank yet, or is it cycling?

In this tank, there is a betta, 3 cories and 2 ADF. I stuffed some media in the aquatech filter, and was running that and an azoo palm filter. I was going to run them both for several weeks to be sure the BB was colonized, then move the azoo to another tank. Now this is going to throw me off.

If the Aquatech is running now, use both the filters for the BB. Then either figure out how to fix the aquatech or toss it and get a new filter.
