Just a quick hello to all - what a great site - would love to have some of the tanks and fish i seen on the site, but am sadly lacking in funds, time and space, oh well.
Have one 130liter tank with salvini cichlid pair in it and one smaller tank with some native fish from my home counbtry (new zealand) - they are called
"dwarf kokopu" :c12:

Welcome to the forum.

Funds do play a large part in fishkeeping, don't they? The fish are the cheapest part of it. Just buy a bit of stuff as you go and it isn't such a hard hit all at once.

Hello and welcome!
Would love to see a contribution about these "dwarf kokopu" of yours!
As a fellow Southern Hemispherian, always interested in more "local" fish!

Their scientific name is Galaxias Maculatus - grow to about 10cm and live for about 2 years at most, although they are usually about 1year old when sold as they only reproduce in the ocean. Cold water fish - to the extent that they sometimes need ice in the water during summer to keep them cool.
