Bowl feeding is very good for any sinking food. It puts the food in one spot and the fish will learn very quickly what that bowl is for and what that tube going in the tank and down to the bowl means. It keeps the food in one spot that the fish can go to and eat, rather than spreading the food all through the tank (including feeding the filters) and hoping the fish eat it all. It also helps me know how much they are eating and adjust how much I feed or how often.

The discus naturally prefer vertically arranged, thin, long pieces of driftwood to simulate the roots they inhabit in nature.
