Do barbels regrow?

I've had some panda corys for a little over a month now. When I purchased them, they had little or no barbels.

I have them in a tank with a fine sand substrate, which should be ideal for their barbels.

Does anyone know if they will grow back over time?

Yes, they will regrow just like nipped fins will repair.

As with fins, unless they are down really short they will regrow. I have seen some fish where their fins are nipped so short (into the tissue of the main body) that they don't grow back.

theyll regrow. my hi-fin shark was missing a few whiskers when i bought him and theyve regrown the size of texas now
