Mosquito Fish

I caught about 11 mosquito fish a a local pond the other day. Most of them are fry. One of the females I caught is preganant. Just wanted to let you know.

I currently have about that many that I caught currently. Mosquito fish will eat their babies before they come out all the way sometimes so you need a heavily planted tank if you want any fry to survive. I have about 8 females and they all seem to gravid. Just wondering, do you feed them regular tropical flakes because, that's what I give mine.

They are Noxious Fish here in Australia - not to be returned to the water.
Can't even use them dead as bait!

When I was a kid, I caught about 10 in my local creek and kept them in a tank for a year or so quite successfully.
