so yesterday after school i went to the pet store near by and they had java moss (figures the one place i never bothered to look at mainly because i dont like how they treat their fish)

anyways it looked pretty healthy on the outside of the ball and i even got 2 for the price of one. when i got home i untied the balls and sifted through them for snails and so i could tie it to my rock and the moss was all brown it doesnt seem to be greening and there are only a few green spots.

should i throw it out and buy more or could it have a chance of perking up/growing?

There is no harm in giving it a bit more time. Just be aware that it can fall apart and make a mess with bits of it everywhere.

This was a moss ball. They are supposed to grow in a tight ball like that.

Java Moss is loose and that's probably what you wanted to buy instead of a Moss Ball.
