My boyfriend has a a 29 gallon tank with an array of assorted fish. I know the types of most of them, but there is one that I am not sure of. I thought it was a silver dollar, but after looking through a few pictures on this site of them, I don't think that they are. They resemble them to a certain degree, but I just don't think that they are a silver dollar. They have a round body, almost a perfect circle with a large fin on their belly. They are gray and seem to be a nonagressive fish. If anyone has any idea of what type of fish this might be I would greatly appreciate it. I am trying to find out so I can further look into their care as far as pH balance in the water. If you can help, please message me on this site or e-mail me at StephanieJG0385@yahoo.com and please include in the subject line this website or "fish" so I know that it is not a spammer. If you have pictures of the fish you are speaking of, that would be great

Thanks a lot,

Stephanie

It is next to impossible to identify a fish without a picture. Are you able to post a pic to help us help you?

Yes, I can post a picture of it. Are we able to do that in HTML format on this website or would I need to send it to you via e-mail or message?

They are called a black skirt or black widow in some places.

I have many black skirts and can confirm that is what you have there. Curious fish, indeed. I had one that was really rambunctious, had to isolate him to a 10 gallon with 4 each neon tetras and glowfish. My daughter's tank has a school of 6 of them.
