My water parameters are pH 7.8 GH 3-4 and KH 2-2.5 this is well water by the way and I raise the GH for my plants its naturally lower then that. Was wondering how you thought some blue rams would fair in these conditions since i have soft water but a high pH? Also if anyone would have an idea of what is buffering my pH up that high?

I think they will do fine in that water. Aclimate them slowly and they should thrive.

yep, IF you wanted them to breed like rabbits, toss some mopani in there and get the Ph around 6.0, they turn into convicts and spit out babies faster then a pickle chopper.
what though are your tds's of your well water?(total disolved solids) if its heavy in iron or rust or copper ect(unsure where you live) that can cause a problem as well. Well water is iffy because its all different.
What are your total parameters and how is the tank set up?

Not sure of the tds. As for the rest 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and around 10ppm nitrate. The tank is a 55 gallon mildly planted with multiple slate caves and soon to be added 1 or 2 pieces of driftwood. Have a HOB penguin 350 and a rena xp3 for filtration. As for the blue rams I found some Bolivians locally ( Raleigh NC) and just couldn't pass them up. Ended up with 5 of them not sure of sex yet still trying to determine but besides some small quarrels when feeding everyone seems to be getting along and doing fine. Hoping to add at least one more when the store gets more. Figuring 6 is probably the limit with the foot print of a 55.

6 bolivians should be fine in a 55g, I'd just make sure you aquascape so there are a lot of breaks in the line of site. That will provide enough territory for each ram. Congrats on the bolivians, they're my fav rams!
