I recently purchased a frog from Petco and she's a light colored frog. I've had her for a week now. The water has been changed once. I only did a 25% water change. I use tap water and treat it with NovAqua and Amquel. I noticed recently that she has a little white patch right above her arms. The other side doesn't have one and it is getting me a little worried. I've been feeding her every 2 days with brine shrimp. I pick up the left over food she doesnt eat and the Water temp is at 78. I have a filter and a heater running all the time. She's a curious little fella and acts normal but that white patch really concerns me. Is there something wrong with her?

I've been trying but I cant get a good picture of it. It's too fuzzy. It's just one small little bump. I didn't know frogs could get ick

How long has she had the white spot, did she have it when you bought it?
its too big a spot to be "ich" it could be an egg spot, it could be a burn from the heater, it could be completely normal and if she is fine then just monitor it to make sure it doesn't get any bigger, move, get more of them and doesn't start to affect her.
keep us posted though and if it develops any more get some pics up and we will try to help

I'm not sure how long she has had it. I just noticed today but she is acting normal. Does she look healthy to you guys? I lost some frogs to CF before and I think I'm getting a little paranoid. I keep seeing her pale but then I look again and she is not so I can't really tell.

When you start to get worried about a pet your mind plays tricks on you, she looks fine to me, just as i say monitor her not every 5 minutes but daily, she will be fine

just out of curiosity how long has the tank been cycled?

Perhaps you already know this, Skyblazer, but the male African Dwarf Frogs have glands behind each front arm. These glands that, again, only the males have, appear as little, slightly elvated, white spots. Are you sure that your frog is a female? And are you sure that the white spot is only on one side?

Yes im 100% Positive. The patch that is on her is above her arms not under it. The patch also kind of lumps inside a bit.

Probably a fungus. Ask at the store what can be used for fungus in frogs.

Oh just one question. If it isn't fungus and I treat the frog would it be harmful to her..?
