Activated carbon in filter with Safe Start ?

Hello all. Just a quick question , while I am cycling with Safe Start, should I be using activated carbon in the filter, or will it somehow harm the developing cycle ?I used the Safe Start thinking that I could cycle with fish. Help please.

You can use it if you want. Carbon will not effect the bacteria cultures in the Safe Start. Carbon actually has lots of surface area for bacteria growth. Most people stop using it since it needs replaced every few weeks to be effective and does not really do much in a healthy aquarium.
