*Sigh* need some advice

Ok, as I am sure most of you have read my other posts about my current experience with cycling my tank, I am down to one shrimp in my 30 gal tank. However, today, I still have a reading of at least 8.0 ppm or more. The API liquid tester thing is really dark green. I have done 2 50% water changes and am down to only 1 shrimp. Should I just leave it alone or do another change or...?
