Our friend who owns a lfs received this coral in his order, and its labeled as an Australian elegance, but it doesn't look like any elegance I've seen. What do you think? Every elegance image I've googled all appear to have tentacles and this one doesn't, but his supplier swears it is one. If it is in fact one, then were going to take it.

We kinda thought so too, but it has a stony skeleton so it can't be a leather.

Nope, definitely not a Toadstool, and I'd also have to say not an elegance either. The shape of the polyp isn't right for an elegance, and neither the "tentacles" on the polyp are not right either. Elegance corals only have tentacles on the outside ridge of their polyps. It could be an Owl Eye coral, I have seen those with a "fuzzy" polyp.

That appears to be a single polyp of Blastomussa merleti.
