Upside Down Cats

Anyone know how big upside down cats really get?

The LFS I go to has some and I'd like to add some to one of my tanks this weekend (depending on eventual size)

Thats perfect - just wanted to be sure they wouldn't wind up like the 18" ID sharks the LFS is housing!

Just so you know, you will never see them. I had two, one stays in a cave with my Royal pleco and only comes out at night when all the lights are off. The other one would bury itself in a fake plant to the point that I could barely see him.

I have a pair of upside-down catfish and only very rarely see them. They stay hidden in bright light, so I lightly coated the aquarium bulb with a mist of high-heat black spray paint. They came out a little more, for a while, then the days got longer and they stayed hidden. I got an LED crystal light that I turn on at night as the only illumination and sometimes I get to see them playing together, chasing each other around in a game like tag. Pretty cool, but as said before don't expect to see them much. The exception would be if you had a very bare tank, but then all you will be doing is stressing them out, thereby not doing a good job as a "parent."
