im in the process of building my pond, i cant afford the filtration that is needed for a pond of its size do you guys think running the water from a waterfall down a long creek with varying sizes of rock to another smaller pond then droping in to the main pond would work as a sort of natural filter for debri

Wow. This is going to be some kind of setup. What happens when the pond fills up? Will it have a run off? Sounds to me like a good idea as fresh water will constantly be coming in but I don't have too many smarts on things like this. Sounds nice.

personally I think building the waterfall would cost more than the filter. The waterfall will look cool and I would go for it, but if you are going to go through the trouble of pumping water up a water fall you can easily put a .....

the pond is about 11 feet long 9 feet at the widest 4 ft at the deepest tappering to shallow and raised above ground about 2 ft. or it will be when its done the koi store said that the filter system for it will be about 1000 dollars to keep it completely clear as soon as i figure out how to post pics ill put some on here
