ID this Gourami

I rescued this gourami, the owner said it was a dwarf gourami female. I just want to check. Is it a dwarf and is it female?

It's definitely a dwarf gourami. The dorsal fin is typically used to sex gouramis but it's hard to get a clear look at this one. Typically a rounded dorsal fin is female, where a pointed one is a male.

It looks like a female Dwarf Gourami in bad shape. The dorsal fin method doesn't work as well with Dwarfs. The faded, drab colors are what you use to tell with this species.

Okay I thought it was probably a female as well. It is smaller than my male dwarf gourami and he picks on her sometimes, but he just chases her and doesn't nip at her or anything like that. I've been doing water changes every other day to make sure water quality stays good. Any other recommendations on how to make this fish get healthier? I rescued these two dwarf gourami and six assorted tetra. The male dwarf seems to be doing the best. Thank you all for the help!
