I don't see any ich on those fish.
Ich looks like salt grains all over the tail end of the fish.
I don't think that swordtails are capeable of changing their sex.

A more clear pic would help.
I'm not sure its a fungus or what.
Is the tank properly cycled? What is your tank maintenance like? Water changes, how much how often?

I had a swordtail that I thought was changing sex but found out that swordtails don't change sex, what you have is called a late bloomer, a male that just took his time to grow the tail.

Your fish died because they have been in an overstocked fish bowl for a long period of time without a filter. You have since got a small filter (which is a start), but your remaining fish will also end up the same way, by systematically being stressed/weakened by lack of oxygen, if you are turning the filter off at night. NEVER turn a filter off for any length of time, as that is what is keeping the water oxygenated/circulating. Any plants in your bowl (which I think you said you have), will further deplete the oxygen levels at night.

The sooner you get the tank, the better! I would advise you to also read this “cycling with fish” sticky, if you haven’t already done so.

the filter is super important especially at night, if you have any plants or even algae when you turn the light off they stop producing oxygen and start consuming it. The surface agitation of the water is what keeps oxygen suspended in the water column, i would consider adding an airstone as well until you get something else lined up.
