Ok, seems like every year within a week of my birthday bad things happen, like Wife having a miscarriage, 2 deaths in the family, etc

My birthday was Sunday, today I broke a clip on the XP3 thats on my massively overstocked 55. Ordered a replacement and went to Walmart for carbon cartriges for the HOB. When I pulled into the lot the car died! Alternator is bad, my Daughter comes and we hook up the jumper cables to charge the batt. My plan is to get home and work on it tomorrow, figured that I can fire up my old truck (been sitting for a while) and use it to go to the parts house. The truck batt is dead!! Now here I set 15 miles from town and nothing runs aggh!!!!!

Well, make up for it with a hearty meal and some appropriate beverages staring at some beautiful scenery.

I'll get through it, it seams that the older I get, the more depressed I get around B-days. If I survive the twice daily 20% WC until the part arrives.

Let's hope you get all the bad junk over in one day. Cars anymore just stop! Years ago if a battery was going bad, an alternator or starter you had a bit of warning. Not with cars today....they just stop.....and these danged circuit boards are another whole new beast. I just replaced an alternator to the tune of nearly $200. (That was the new tank I was supposed to get.)

I hope Sunday was a nice day for you, tho. Don't ya love it when your license tabs are also due on your birthday? I think having another bill to pay because it's your birthday stinks! I have one coming up in 4 days myself.

PS>>>>>>> I HATE CHRISTMAS!

Ah! Our vehicle woes are quite simmilar.

I had and '89 oldsmobile. I had to park it for a while, and when i came back to move it, the battery died. When i had to move it again, the NEW battery was drained. When i was able to drive it again, it wouldnt start. So we jumped it, and it ran. I got it literally half way across the street before it died. We jumped it for longer. It turns out, the belt was turning the alternator, but the element inside wasnt turning, or t was broken. And then came the smoke. From the engine, from the tail pipes, and even from under the car. So, we were going to scrap it, but the neighbors friend agreed to pay $350 for it, in any condition. THEN i was supposed to get a '92 mercury sable. But they traded it in. And then i had a 2000 ford ranger, and i was going to buy it yesterday, but the @&$@(! that was going to sell it to me, sold it to someone else behind my back for an extra $500. So today, i am going to look at a 1989 ford ranger extended cab. 4x4s rule!

When i came in to get a second battery the guy said "back again" like he rememberd me.

I called the guy i am buying the truck from, and that it is a V6! heck yea. Only downside is that its a manual. Dont get me wrong, i love manuals, but its so much work.

I guess ill have to sacrifice my right hand for a kick arse truck.
