We've had a few cases of RTN at the stores on some acros and brains and since I'm pretty new to saltwater, I'm wondering if there are any effective treatments.
We fragged one acro, treated it with coral dip and managed to save one piece, but we were not able to frag the others.
Any ideas? Should I bring some more superglue to the store? :ssuprised:

I've had a run in with it once. Killed all but one branch of a golfball sized greens birdsnest and half of a softball sized pocilipora colony. The only way I was able to save them was to frag the good parts and toss the rest. I tried an iodine dip but it didn't work.
The cause of the RTN that we had was the addition of a very large toadstool leather without running carbon.
Now the birdsnest has grown from a little half inch branch to the size of a baseball in 6 months time. The pocilipora got another case of RTN a few months later and killed it completely.

A real pain to loose corals like that.
The one piece we did save was by fragging with a coral dip. Coral dip alone didn't work for another acro ... didn't have what was needed to frag it.
