Would this: http://www.marineandreef.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=RHG13902A

be considered low light on a 55 gallon. I don't want to add C02.

Seen it at petsmart for 80 bucks.

Keep in mind, that fixture will not come with a bulb. It will give you low light. It should work for low lights plants if you get a high wattage bulb

I am assuming you have plants in this tank based on you CO2 comments. You might want to get a double bulb fixture.

HOT5s are very efficient but I would still only rate that as a low light fixture. You could grow all of the classic low light plants; crypts, anubias, moss, ferns. I would also say swords, vals and a few select stems like Rotala rotundifolia and various Hygro species would also do alright in it.

hmmm. Since there is not plans on CO2 I'm probably going to pick it up when I go into Petsmart. Though that is becoming rare.

I think it will look better than a 10 dollar 2 bulb t12 fixture.

I'm sorry, I just noticed it said it DID come with a blub, I miss read it.

I've only tried a 18,000K blub(s) once but it didn't work for my tank. I got a ton of algae. 18,000 K can promot algae growth as it has more of a blue tone to it which algae just loves.

Just keep a close eye on your tank for algae.
