I don't mind them though. They're almost impossible to see, and help clean up excess food. It's funny though. The little pinheads are even inside the UG filter stems.

They will take your tank over. You may want to get a couple loaches to keep the population down.

yea, i thought my loaches had taken care of all of them in my tank until i cracked open my fluval to clean it and they were everywhere in there. so back in the tank they went, loach food :)
those thing multiply in a hurry so be careful. yoyo loaches will clean them out in a hurry.

I've noticed that my snail population adjusts itself to the amount of extra food in the talk.

I've noticed that my snail population adjusts itself to the amount of extra food in the talk.the size of my loaches belly is directly proportional to the amount of excess food in my tank :hmm3grin2orange:

Do Kuhli Loaches eat them?

Do Kuhli Loaches eat them?

They certainly do! The main part of my tank (where the fish are) is spotless, the fliter part of the tank has snails.

They're gone! Where did they go?

Seriously, I can't find a single one now. Perhaps they're hiding, or perhaps one of my fish favors escagot?

...I kept them in check by regular vacuuming...now mine are gone too...and I have to find other snails to feed to my puffers...

I did what Rue does and just used vacuuming as population control. Almost all of them are gone now though.

Geez, at what point does population control become genocide?

I think snails can be a good thing as well as a little algae.

Depends on tank conditions, but agreed in general.
