hoplo catfish?

like i said before, my work has a 15g with 2 black angels, a golden wonder killie, and 2 hoplo catfish. the hoplos are very interesting, and are about 6" long and they bury their heads in the gravel looking for food. Ive never seen them in stores.

Are they common?

A couple of the store around here have them - I thought they were cool but I was told they'd eat anything they could fit in their mouth and I have small fish in all of my tanks
