Went to the beach today, and while walking along the sidewalk I saw a really nice pond set up in someone's front yard. Then I noticed they had a sign saying pond for sale. It said to search craigslist for "water garden" for more info. I don't have a backyard, but for the fun of it went to check it out. I saw the price and my jaw dropped... They want $20,000 for it!!!!!!!! I was like yeah right, it's would be waaaay cheaper to build my own if I ever want to!! Just thought I'd share :hmm3grin2orange:

How do you move a pond? Just curious.

...I can think of many things to do for $20,000...and 'used pond' isn't on my short list for some reason...:hmm3grin2orange:

i would imagine you remove the liner from the ground and all of the equipment, but i think most of the value is if youre selling the whole house/property and theres a fully built pond with plants around

For that price you're better off just buying a new one and putting it in yourself.

I've never even seen a pond for sale like that before. Around here most people just end up burying them or filling them in with dirt for a garden if they don't want them anymore, both of which usually leave the base broken. My dad is a contractor and is always pulling these things out of peoples yards when they are digging for pipes or pools and stuff.

I'm sure this pond belonged to the builder of that pond or for a client and that sign was simply an advertisement. lol My son builds homes and also sets up a sign similar as free advertisement.

edited.......wow. He is selling that very pond. Probably sold the house and no one wants to pond.

Its the same as selling a used tank. Some people feel its worth more because they owned it!:hmm3grin2orange:
Its not worth any where near that!If it was 80x120 it would be different!lol
