Wow, make sure you secure the top of the tank and plug up any holes. You've got an escape artist. Houdini the Cray.

My brother had a fiddler crab when we were kids that escaped from his tank, went down the steps and was found in the kitchen. The sad part of the story is that my dad came across the little critter without his glasses, thought that was the biggest spider he had ever seen in his life, and stomped him with a shoe. No more fiddler crabs for our family......

Crayfish are real escape artists. We had a tank in our lab with a crayfish in it when I was in university. We had noticed that the crayfish had disapeared but couldn't find him anywhere in the lab. We figured that the janitor had picked him up or something and he'd been trashed.

Two days later the lab tech asks us if we'd lost a crayfish. The bugger hand crawled out of the tank, fell off the filing cabinet and crawled 200 feet to the other end of the student labs!
