Ok so i took out a large piece of driftwood from a gecko tank i have. Don't worry...i boiled it and rinsed it clean. So i put it in today and it has turned my water really cloudy and has a slight brown tint. Should i do a water change-How much? Or any other advice?

Was it hard wood? Wood gives off a brown color when soaked which is tannic acid. It is harmless to fish and will go away eventually. Carbon in the filter will help get rid of it. Boiling and soaking in the wood will also help remoe it from the wood.

Some people like the color as it makes a natural looking black water biotope.

Carbon will remove the tannins like what has been said... Also purigen will remove the tannins at a more rapid pace and it won't release the tannins back into the water after a given time period like carbon will.

well i've been beat to the punch haha but yes they're just tannins and are harmless as already stated...

personally i like the look it gives your tank and when it goes away it goes away lol... you can speed the process via water changes and carbon
