Ive found this plant growing emmersed along some ditches and bogs, and would like to try it in my tank. Does anyone have experience planting it? Any advice would be very welcome.

That is a great plant, it is tough to keep rooted but it will grow up filter tubes etc. I liked it when I had it.

My 31G tank 17" in height and is low light (2x20w) and these get kinda long and leggy but continue to grow really well. I agree with rich311k that they are tough to keep rooted but with higher light they are supposed to stay shorter and root better so I have read.

Ditto about keeping them rooted, but you must need some crazy light level to do it. I had as much a 50W of fluorescents on a 10g tank and couldn't keep them rooted.
As a floating plant though, they're a real weed. With a little ferts you're probably good to take out a salad bowls worth each month.
