View Full Version : Should I Quarintine?

I bought two koi- they look great- very healthy and was going to put them in my pond. I was going to drip acclimate- but was wondering if I should quarantine them or not? One of the tropical tanks of mollies looked like it may have ick, but usually the coolwater fish have separate filtration right?

I don't usually quarantine, just try to buy healthy stock. Do you think it's worth it?

The only pond stocking is some feeder goldfish- they are about 5 inches. The new koi are the same size.

Yes. QT them. You don't want to risk ick in the pond. Just to be on the safe side.

Thats what I figured. It would be easy to spot in a tank, but harder in a pond. Thanks all!

Good think I am QT- one of them has something iffy on his side. I've got a post up under goldfish/koi.
