Light requirements for Plants

I have 6 48" T-8 bulbs currently running on my 75 gallon. 5 of them are 32 watt at 6500k and 1 40 watt at 18000k. This puts me at a little above 2.5 watts per gallon which would put me in what range, light, medium light, or medium ?

Medium maybe a touch more than that. You can grow wide variety of plants.

Would this be too much for low light plants, I need to post pics of my plants because my BH picked them out and neither of us can remember what they are. One I know is an onion plant and maybe one is hornwort.

Low light plants will do fine. More light than the required minimum is not an issue. That hornwort is going to grow like crazy.

I'm pretty sure it is hornwort and you can actually see it grow, I have several plants and the ones located to the side grow slowly but the 2 plants that are in the center back of my tank grow 1-2 inches a day. They have reached the water's surface and now are growing across the surface. What's the best way to trim these back or should I ?

You can pretty much chop hornwort and other fast growing stems where ever you want to. Both pieces will keep growing.

I have stem plants that I swear will grow an inch when you turn your back. The more light for these the faster they seem to grow. With your lighting, I would try just about anything.... Just keep high light plants directly under the lights.
Since your flirting on the high range, you might also need to look into CO2 or at least Flourish Excel.

I started using Flourish Excel to get rid of black hair algae outbreak and couldn't believe how fast it worked and my other plants love it. I have to give it a thumbs2:
