I've never used them myself, but they're basically just a glorified DIY. If you want to buy a better system than a DIY you'll want to look at pressurized ones. The diffuser/bubble counter thing that comes with it is kind of nice, but I just use an air stone and it works fine for me :shrug:. If it's going to be something that will be sitting out in the open, you may want to get it just for aesthetics and then you can probably figure out a way to make your own refills. That's about the only reason I would buy one.

Why some one they add Baking soda into CO2, what is that for?
