I'm in! I did it! SW here I come!:1:

Ordered my Red Sea Max Plug and Play SW Aquarium System (do I get kickbacks for advertising for them?).

Today I bought:

Hydrometre
Omega One Marine Pellets
Omega One Marine Flakes
API Master Reef Testing Kit

...and I'll be getting some of the nicest Jacarta live rock to be had!

Tank might be in as early as next week. As soon as I have salt water going...the live rock goes in!

And then I get to watch and wait...

...I'm SO looking forward to seeing what the live rock bring! thumbs2:

Thanks guys! Bought the 3 last issues of Tropical Fish to help tide me over...

I will be getting Jakarta live rock which apparently is LOADED with critters...so I was told to get around 10 lbs of it and the rest base rock, or I'll be overstocked...

It will also be interesting to see how long it takes the baserock to come alive ...

dont let him do that :ghasp:! Maybe a paranoid plan is in order... j/k

saltwater is kindof my holy grail, but for the moment I can't really afford to go that route. I actually got into the hobby because of my friend's 20-high reef tank. Good luck, and have fun!

...I'll need the luck! And I plan to have fun...

I've been picking out corals I like the look of...so I can start pricing frags...

lol, my lfs has a load of frags

...we have a specialty marine store...SW only...so that's where I'll be doing my SW shopping...

...but I only know a few SW critters, so I'm boning up - or trying to...on some others...

The corals are confusing, but I think I'm getting it...

I wouldn't mind having one harder to rear coral, so I can maybe sell off the frags...but that's a ways down the road...

Problem is...I have no idea of which are the easy corals and which are the 'rarer' corals...

Well, its been a while since I posted last so its about ime I started.....

Welcome to the club Rue :27: and be prepared to spend heaps. The Red Sea Max is an awesome tank and a friend of mine is Aussie has one. Will try and find you some pics.

Remember that as you are just starting, steer away from sps and **most** species of lps corals. Your best bet is to go for softies until your system has matured.

Anyway, I'm sitting in the middle of class so have to go

...I mostly excited about getting my live rock...what to see who all is living on it...

...and I'm panicking about gluing rocks together to make my reef...
