Hey, do you guys think this could work? its an idea for an "automated" water change.
I have a Marineland penguin 200 filter, i'd make a hole somewhere behind the filter media and connect some pipings from the filter to a waste tank, before the waste tank an electronic water solenoid will be installed between the pipings (normally closed, and opens when activated).
The solenoid would be activated at the same time with a water pump, this will pump water from a clean fresh water tank into my Aquarium (I don't use tap water, I have to buy potable water... we don't have good tap water here).
This would be activated with a flip of a switch or with a digital timer.
And all we have to do at the end is set an equal rate of drain/pump. And knowing how much time the system will be activated.
