I just got a couple of Panda Corys to put together with 2 that I already had. My old ones, of course, were eating the algae wafers that I always gave them, but the news ones go over the food but don't stop to eat it. I'm getting a little bit concerned.

Is there any chance that they will never eat the wafers?

I'm using both topfin and hikari algae wafers. The new ones are not eating any of the two.

Should I try something else? I will call the LFS tomorrow ask what they feed their bottom dwellers.

How long have you had them? Give them a chance to settle in. They are mostly carnivores so try dropping in a few sinking pellets.

I've had them for 2 days now. I know its a short time, but I have no idea of when they were feed... So I was just a little concerned!

You think it is just a matter of settling in?

The only food I have right now is... Betta pellets, algae wafers and freeze-dried brine shrimp, but I'm not sure of how I would make the last one sink for the cories.

Yesterday they were totally hiding under the driftwood. Today, they mixed with my other two and they kept swimming together all over the tank. They even got together when eating, but the 2 new ones didn't really touch the wafer.

I would just give them some time, they are probably eating you just dont know it. Betta pellets will sink eventually so you could put a couple of those in.

My sterba's corydoras were the same seems every fish other then the corys would eat the algae wafers but its been 2 months are there still kicking so they must be eating them maybe when the lights go out :)

I agree with rich just give them a bit of time maybe feed the wafers once the lights are off

Calling up the place and asking what they fed them is a good idea mate :)

I do agree that they may need more time to get settled.
Its always a good idea to find out some info at the store you buy your fish.
Ask them what they are fed(Usually just flake foods).
What the water specs are(hardness,ph ,nitrates, etc.)
How long they have been in the store(Fish usually get very stressed from this and it takes a while for them to calm down).
Have they been ill while in the store? Have they been treated for anything?
Do they add salt to their tanks?
All things that are good to know before getting your fish. I visit the store a few times before getting any fish,it give me a chance to inspect the fish before buying it.There has been many instances where I left the fish there because I noticed something I did not like on previous visits.lol

Corys will eat what hits the substrate. They are likely feeding at night when the light goes off, don't get too worried, they won't starve themselves, but they will need something besides algae wafers over the long term, they are carnivores!
