Hi all,
I have a 29 gallon tank set-up. It's almost done cycling (nitrites on way down, nitrates on way up), and before I add fish I want to double check things with you all!

I am using an 8000K 17 watt by aqueon that came with the tank. I rigged behind it, next to the filter, a 5000K 13W from an old Eclipse tank.

The substrate is eco-complete and I am dosing occasionally with Excel.

I am using low-light plants, like Anubias nana, java fern, and Aponogeton. I also have some anacharis and taxiphyllum "Giant" moss.

I guess my question is: Will the plants make it with this measly 1W/G setup? I figure the anacharis will be iffy, but they're directly under the 13W, which is not uniformly distributed, and I'm hoping the others will be ok, if a bit slow-growing.

I really don't want to spend any more for a new fixture.
Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I think those plants should do ok. Good luck finishing the cycle.

Your anacharis might thin out pretty bad, but I think it'll survive at least. Not sure about the giant moss, but if it's anything like java moss, it should be fine. Other than that, I think you're good to go for the plants you've listed thumbs2: .
