Yep, that would be a rottweiler thumbs2: . Got her from a very reputable breeder too. They ship out their puppies all over the world and a few famous people own them, like a backstreet boy got one from them amongst others. Lucky for us, they live maybe 20 minutes up the road from where we live. Her mom is actually the offspring of their one show dog that has won the most best of breeds in the country.

After we lost our bulldog to lung cancer last year, we wanted to get a breed that didn't have a history of medical problems, and we went all out on getting a good blood line to make sure we don't have to deal with all that again. Should be fun watching her grow up, now only if she would stop peeing all over the place :smad:.

Cute! :1luvu: Glad you got her from a reputable breeder! Hopefully you won't have to deal with any of the rottie health issues that way!

I am a bit surprised you got her before she was 6 weeks old. Current recommendations suggest no earlier than 8 weeks. I'd be okay with 7 weeks...but not 5...I agree they need to spend more time with Mom and the littermates...

CONGRATULATIONS on your new addition to the family!! She is adorable!! Rottweilers are the BEST!! I grew up with a full-blooded German Rottweiler. He weighed a little over 200 pounds and was extremely protective of us. After he died (from cancer at age 11), we got a Rottweiler/Old English Sheepdog mix, and now I have a Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix named Rio.

When he isn't playing, he spends most of his time laying on his back. He even sleeps like this sometimes....

The day after he went to the vet to get his teeth cleaned. I was trying to get a picture of his pearly white teeth, and finally....SUCCESS!!

Thanks everyone :22:

@ Rue, we were originally going to wait 8 weeks to get her, but she was already weaned entirely and eating her wet food no problem. She even snacks on some dry food from time to time already. If you would've seen all the stuff we had to sign about how we would take care of her, you'd understand how they could let her go at 6 weeks . She actually won't even be going outside whatsoever until she's at least 8 weeks old. We do have two other dogs here also, not that they're her littermates, but she still gets to interact with other dogs on a daily basis.

@amanda, very cute rottie! I love the puppy dog stage and all, but I can't wait for her to grow up either. Nothing like a full grown rottweiler to chase off the horde of solicitors and scam artists that come through here when the weather gets warmer. The sign we put up makes most of them go away, but you always get the one with severe tunnel vision. I think I'll go get my boa out and answer the door with her and the rottweiler. Should be interesting to see what happens.

Thanks for explaining. I did find it odd. Not so much regarding the eating, but moreso with the socialization end of things...

Oh yes, they're so cute as puppies, but the rotties have a tendency to be chewers when they are puppies. I have people come in to my store all the time looking for things for their rottie pups to chew on lol but as long as you feed it a high quality food, that will help.
