a few questions?

hi i have just brought a new tank and got a male and female convict cichlids with it.

why does the bigger one (the male) keep chasing the smaller female?

why does the male seem to hover around the bottom of the tank alot?

is it true that they like dimmed light

if so what are suitable floating plants to add as i understand that they like to eat most plants

and finally why is my male pure white with a few pink patches is this normal

many thanks dont been to be a pain but cant really find any useful info online

Howdy. A good plant would be wisteria, it does well floating or planted.
your fishs behavior is typical, the males tend to bully the ladies a lot. Give her some cover to hid in. The color you are seeing could be an adult hue comeing in, or just some hybrid genes showing.
Finaly, noone is a pain on this site; not even me.
