Another Swordtail question

At what age are the fry going to start trying to breed? Want to make sure I separate the sexes lest I end up with a thousand of these!

Around 6 to 8 weeks of age.

Once you can sex them, i.e. the males gonopodium starts to lengthen, platies are pretty much ready to go, so separate them as soon as you can.

I think I'll buy the growout tank this weekend, order the filters, etc.
