I've only had one arowana so I can't say I have much experience with the subject matter. However, my aro never had a problem with having an air stone in the tank. The only problem you may run into, depending on how strong your air pump is, is when feeding the bubbles may make it more difficult for the fish to find food on the surface. Short of that I can't see any problems with the air stone, only benefits. But perhaps some one else with more experience could help out more. Best of luck with your fish!

Sorry about your loss. It seems the #1 cause of death among Arowanas is jumping out of the tank.

You definitely need to keep the tank covered when keeping Aros. They are insane jumpers. Sorry about your loss.

That's tragic, someone with an arowana should try fabricating their lid so that it can be clamped or padlocked to the physical tank. That would save a ton of arowanas in the long run.
