Ok so I noticed some black brush algae growing on a few of my plants....and I read on this forum that excel will kill it, but I already use excel so it is not killing it....any other suggestions? (it isn't that bad....yet...so I want to get it now before it takes over like everything else that has gone wrong for me)

Snip of the infected leaves. You can spray the excel directly on it that should kill it.

well I can't exactly snip the leaves of all of them since most of it is growing on stems and that would wipe out about 80% of the plant...I suppose I could try to get the excel right on it though...somehow.
How bad would it be to just leave it alone? Does it grow very fast?

Depends, it can grow fast or it may just stay contained. How much excel are you adding? You can use an eye dropper to squirt where you want.

well I was using 2ml a day for my 20g tank but now I am adding 2ml every other day.

I would start with going back to everyday. Are you doing the big dose after water changes?

No, because I do water changes about every 4 days now. But I do put it in then too. I will try going back to every day and see what happens. Seems like I can't win with algae....lol

IME excel will not kill off bba once it starts unless it is applied directly to the bba.
