Im wondering if anyone had Microgeophagus ramirezi before in community with other fish. My male seem a bit aggresive with other fishs, keep chasing them sound like he want he's own territory, and its only a baby. Female is pretty quite, i have red noise and neons, i am better bring them back to my LFS? when i bought them the LFS told me that they are prefect for a community tank.

They are cichlids and they can be territorial. My males are pretty fiesty at times. They dont usually hurt anyone, but I have to say they can be very rough on cory cats.

Seen it with the ones I've kept before. Just typical cichlid behavior. The chasing doesn't really amount to much, just maintaining his territory that's what they do. They don't generally attack and kill anything though. after a while they tend to calm down some .

from my experience they will be nasty until everything else in the tank learns where his territory is then he will chill out as they learn to keep a distance. Cory cats are bad ram tankmates in my opinion as they dont ever seem to recognise where the rams territory is and continually get attacked. Awesome dithers if you are breeding the rams though.
