I blew another 100$ on the salt tank. I was originally going for more coral, but they had a SWEET high output reflector saltwater light that anemones and corals would die for, so i ended up buying it, and it helps with it being a small store and getting to know the manager for some *cough*extra discounts. thats the good news.

The bad news, on the way back i got stuck in traffic for 30 min, in 35C weather, because of a rear-ender crash infront of me. I almost died in the heat.

Though being in Canada, that is extremely hot. No AC in the car? That is the only way I survived in Alaska during the summer when it was that hot, I went for a drive in my truck. I love A/C. People don't believe it gets that hot above the canada/us border.

Gratz on the light! =)

i had the air conditioning FULL blast and all the window open.

I should have taken my motorcycle. there were cops at the crash, but i could have probably ripped around to the other side of the road without them seeing me

hate to break it to ya champ, but a/c with the windows open is pointless.

It's all in the model and year of your vehicle. My A/C works even when it is 40.5C outside, but that's with my Mazda6, I have to be careful because I can get it to 18C in there lol. My honda accord sucked when it came to AC, it seemed to only take the edge off and left lots of condensation on the windshield.

So when are you going to get more rock for your tank? You were right, it does look a little lonely in there.

i have a 2002 silverado with good AC.

Im waiting for the LFS with the cheapest LR to get their new shipment of LR cycled. If i add uncycled LR, my protein skimmer makes cloudy water. Another coral and a shrimp are the last things on my list to buy besides more LR and hermits. I finally have ALL the proper lighting, ETC, and the coral and condy are extremely healthy. No bleaching whatsoever, and the condy is deep purple and never hides and the coral is always out with neon green and purple tips.

So basically i can now just slowly add more stuff since i have all the perfect equipment, no rush for more lighting etc. since today i ended up getting the light instead of coral, i guess tomorrow or sunday i'll get another coral. this time im gonna splurge for a expensive one since theyre all 30% off still. I love looking through the 300g coral tank and picking them out

What type, color spectrum, and wattage are your lights?

cocoa_pleco

i think what i have is a 40W T-5 sunlight fixture with reflector, regular 30W fluorescent, and a 30W blue actinic. however, i have a GODZILLA 75W monster fluorescent light i want to hang over the tank as soon as i can find a way to hang it from the roof

i dont really want to add more fish to the tank. the damsel loves to sprint allover like a little relay runner

the one thing i'd DIE for is the 300g coral tank at my lfs. its a 300g long with about 1500lbs LR, 2 MONSTER $5000 lights, 300 corals, and the ODDEST creatures you can find. Theres something in the tanks ive seen twice, and its awesome. It looks like a freshwater goby, but its big and it runs with little feet across the LR.

I kinda question that 300g. with it holding so much water and being rimless, it'd suck if there was a leak on the bottom

Sounds like a batfish.

Could be a frogfish.....

I love looking at the corals at the LFS even if I don't have a reef anymore! What I especially love are clams. I had a couple and man they are awesome!!

Love that new coral of yours Cocoa!! Nice color, looks very healthy too!! From the pics it looks like a hammer coral although it could be a frogspawn. The difference is in the tips. Hammer corals have a more elongated shape while frogspawn is round. Either way a nice coral!!!

And yeah, try the heat in Florida in August...melt you away!! :ezpi_wink1:

Check your AC refrigerant. Chances are that it has leaked out (partially) if the AC isn't able to keep up with heat. I can't imagine it would be that bad, even if you were not moving much air through the radiator.

lol, i went back to the store today AGAIN. I got bored with the damsel being the only moving thing in the tank, so i bought a fire shrimp and a mushroom coral

i want it so bad! If i were to get it, which i dont think i will since ive got no more room, i would do what my lfs does and drill a hole in the side in both 33g's, and make a tube connecting the 2 so that i could have 2 33g salt tanks together

Rue

Oh go get it! Store it for now...maybe upgrade one of you smaller tanks, or use it for a sump or 'sumpthing' down the road...

NOW IM FOR SURE GONNA SLAM SOMEONE! i let my friend stay at my summerhome, and there was a sidewalk sale there. he said someone had a heavy glass 30g tank for 5 bucks, and HE DIDNT BUY IT. he said he didnt think id want it. Hmmmm, time for revenge.

Good news, i made 50$ doing a bmx stunt downtown, and since i didnt crack my skull i might consider that running fish thingy. the downside is feeding him, but a running creature is always fun!

i think i'll pass on the other 33g though. Ive got all i could want, saltwater tank, betta, cichlid, angel, tetra, and i still have to work on the asian 3g and possibly make the old 10g salt into a sump.

The good thing about having so many tanks is when i get married i dont have to beg for more tanks!
