2 of my guppys are always swimming and playing together today I noticed something different though they get together and have been going in circles, and what looks like kissing each other, rubbing against each other and chasing each other. It looks like they are dancing Is this ordinary or are they fighting?
I’m 100% sure there both males :)
Well I'll avoid the obvious puns with this thread and say that they are most likely fighting. Are there females in the tank?

nope just males 4 all up and they have always got along fine :) plenty of swimming space for them all
Sounds like fighting behavior, I've never known male guppies to play but I suppose that is also an option.

Sounds like fighting. Male guppies will constantly be at it, so no need to worry about it. From my viewpoint at the desk I can even see two of my bigger guys have some rubbing and pecking happening over who gets to rest in the hornwort!

Fighting, get 8 females and it will disappear. I have two males in a 45 angel tank that do this, I myself used to breed them and am picking up 8 females from one of my customers to keep live fry in the tank for the angels and their fry and juves.
They are fighting but wont kill eachother, its a dominance fight and once its settled they will be fine together but with 4 that fight will last a while.
The only fish Ive lost to fighting are my Rams. I dont think guppies have enough of a mouth to do much damage except to fins and gono's

I think that you need to get females in there.

They may be trying to breed with each other as well. Male livebearers aren't picky as to what they breed with. I have a platy who tries to mate with rummynose tetras.
