Hi,

I plan on getting cherry shrimp for my 10 gallon. Do I have to worry about them escaping? The water level is roughly an inch from the top of the tank.

Also the filter has quote a good current going on. Will they be bothered by the current?

I've had only a few shrimp jump out of the tank in the past 2 years or so. Suddenly flicking on the lights in the room, can startle them and cause them to jump in a random direction.

I've kept shrimp in high current and low current tanks. I like sponge filters for my shrimp tanks. If you use a hang on back (hob) filter, you might need to put something over the intake to avoid the shrimp getting sucked up. An aquaclear sponge with a hole cut in it, can be put over the filter intake. Or you can cover the intake with pantyhose or other sort of mesh.
